Organic-arts' aim is to help re-connect people with the natural environment providing them with a fun, educational experience, giving them knowledge and something tangible they have created themselves to take home, using materials provided freely by the natural environment.

The workshops are about trying to re-connect people with the natural environment, giving people the chance to learn how to make something useful using natural materials taken straight from the forest or woodland. Only dead wood or wood that has already been cut is used.

The materials used have limited value until they have been turned into something useful by the participants at the end of a workshop. drums, and Native American flutes are the main musical instrument workshops I am running at the moment.

I also hold workshops making natural bird boxes and tables, walking sticks and puppets ( for kids )

People on the workshops will ( ideally ) get taken into the forest to collect wood, learning a little bit about the woodland and the materials they are using. After returning to the workshop area they are then instructed in making and using / playing their finished project.

The workshops run over a morning, one day or two days, depending on which workshop is running. I am mobile with the workshops bringing all equipment needed. They can be held under cover or outside, and are open to all ages ( under 16’s accompanied by an adult )

Most organisations working to improve, maintain and protect the natural environment are now looking for new ways to diversify towards different methods of reconnecting people with the natural environment, and attracting people to their organisation. For this reason I am working with other organisations providing local communities in South east England a chance to take part in such activities.
